Two army buddies who have become entertainers travel to a Vermont ski resort for a well-earned rest. However, on arrival they find the resort, run by their old army commander, in need of a helping hand. There's only one answer, to put on a show.

Luther Krank, fed up with the commerciality of Christmas, decides to skip the holiday and go on vacation with his wife, an easy decision to make with their daughter away anyway, but when she suddenly decides to come home, uproar ensues in the rush to celebrate Christmas at the last minute.
